The employment rate in Croatia rose by 1.2% from January to November 2023, new data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics has found.
According to the data, in November 2023, the total number of individuals employed in Croatia was just over 1.657 million, which was down marginally (0.6%) on the previous month.
On a year-on-year basis, employment numbers were up 1.8%, the data showed.
The number of women employed in Croatia stood at close to 772,000 in November 2023, increasing by 1.4% in the period from January to November.
The unemployment rate stood at 6.4% in Croatia as of November 2023, while for women, the unemployment rate was 7.8%.
The sector with the highest number employed in Croatia as of November 2023 was manufacturing (233,805), followed by the wholesale and retail trade (218,002), education (126,005), construction (117,117) and public administration and defense (109,346).
