Estonia reported the highest annual inflation rate in the euro area in April 2025, with a rate of 4.4%, according to the latest estimates from Eurostat.
Other countries to report an above-average inflation rate for the month included Latvia (4.1%), the Netherlands (4.1%), Croatia (3.9%), Slovakia (3.9%) and Lithuania (3.6%).
At the other end of the scale, the lowest annual inflation rate for the month was recorded in France, of 0.8%, while Cyprus (1.3%), Luxembourg (1.7%), Finland (2.0%) and Ireland (2.0%) all had below-average inflation levels.
Across the euro area, annual inflation was estimated at 2.2% in April 2025, unchanged from March, the data showed.
Among the main components contributing to inflation, services recorded the highest annual inflation at 3.9% (up from 3.5%), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco at 3.0% (up from 2.9%). Elsewhere, non-energy industrial goods remained stable at 0.6%, while energy prices declined sharply by 3.5% year-on-year (down from -1.0% in March), according to Eurostat. Read more here.
