What euro area country reported the highest inflation rate in October 2025?

Estonia reported the highest annual increase in inflation in the euro area in October 2025, with a rate of 4.5%, according to Eurostat estimates.

Other euro area countries to report a notable annual inflation rate increase included Latvia (4.2%), Austria (4.0%), Croatia (4.0%) and Slovakia (3.8%). The lowest annual inflation increase was reported in Cyprus (0.3%).

Euro area inflation was estimated at 2.1% in October, down from 2.2% in September, Eurostat‘s data showed.

Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services showed the biggest increase in October, of 3.4%, compared to 3.2% in September, followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (2.5%), compared with 3.0% in September.

Other components included non-energy industrial goods (0.6%, down from 0.8% a month earlier) and energy (-1.0%, compared to -0.4% a month earlier).

On a month-on-month basis, meanwhile, estimated inflation rose by 0.6% in the Netherlands, by 0.5% in Spain and Austria, by 0.4% in Belgium and by 0.3% in Germany.

Several countries saw inflation decline, month-on-month, led by Malta (-1.0%), followed by Portugal (-0.3%), Italy (-0.2%) and Luxembourg and Greece (both -0.1%). Read more here.
