Finland boasted the highest life satisfaction rating in the EU in 2023, with a rating of 7.8, new data from Eurostat has revealed.
According to the data, other countries with an above-average life satisfaction rating included Belgium, Austria, Romania, and Slovenia, each of which boasted a rating of 7.7.
The lowest life satisfaction rating in the EU was reported in Bulgaria (5.9), followed by Latvia and Greece (both 6.9). Bulgaria was the only country to record a life satisfaction rating below 6.
Across the EU, the average life satisfaction rating stood at 7.3, with Eurostat noting that the rating can be influenced by a myriad of factors, including age, level of education, family and financial situation. Read more here.
