Greece reported a 16.9% seasonally adjusted annual increase in services production in October 2025, the highest in the European Union, new data from Eurostat has revealed.
Other countries to report a notable increase in services production, on an annual basis, included Lithuania (+10.1%), Poland (+5.5%), Bulgaria (+5.3%) and Latvia (+5.1%), the data showed.
Several countries also reported a year-on-year decline in services production, led by Luxembourg, which reported a 3.0% decline. Others to see a decline included Hungary (-2.0%), Denmark (-0.8%) and Slovakia (-0.7%).
Services production in the EU
Across the European Union as a whole, services production rose by 2.1% in October 2025, compared with the same month the previous year. In the euro area, the year-on-year increase was the same.
Services production in the EU increased across all major sectors, including a 0.5% increase for transportation and storage, a 2.5% increase for accommodation and food services, a 4.5% increase for information and communication, a 1.1% increase for real estate activities, a 1.9% increase for professional, scientific and technical activities, and a 1.9% increase for administrative and support services.
On a month-on-month basis, meanwhile, services production rose by 0.3% in the EU and euro area. Among EU member states, Luxembourg recorded the highest monthly increase, at 14.7%, followed by Latvia (+2.1%) and Bulgaria (+1.9%)
