Average net income per capita increased by 4.3% in Slovenia in 2024, according to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia.
The average annual net income totalled €14,208 last year, representing a rise of 4.3% compared with the previous year, or €585. Average annual net income per income recipient was higher, at €17,229.
Regional differences in net income
Regional differences remained consistent with previous years, the statistics body said. The Osrednjeslovenska region recorded the highest average income per capita, at €15,332, which is 7.9% above the national average. At the other end of the scale, the Pomurska region had the lowest level, at €12,501, or 12% below the national average.
Income exceeded the national average in three regions: Osrednjeslovenska, Gorenjska and Jugovzhodna Slovenija. All regions recorded year-on-year increases, with the largest growth in Koroška at 5.9% and the smallest in Gorenjska and Savinjska at 3.7%.
Trzin leads the way
At municipal level, income disparities were also evident. As the data showed, the municipality of Trzin recorded the highest average net income per capita in 2024, at €17,188, which is 21% above the national average.
This marks the fifth time since 2014 that Trzin has ranked highest in terms of income per capita. In contrast, Kuzma had the lowest average income for the tenth consecutive year, at €9,508, or 33% below the national average.
In total, 54 municipalities reported income levels above the national average, five fewer than in 2023. Nominal income increased in 204 municipalities, while eight recorded a decline. When adjusted for inflation, however, income decreased in 15 municipalities.
As the data showed, municipalities with the highest incomes included Kranjska Gora, Log–Dragomer, Šmarješke Toplice, Mirna, Bled, Medvode, Žirovnica, Ankaran and Škofljica. Among the lowest-income municipalities, Kuzma was followed by Rogašovci, Grad, Apače, Osilnica, Hodoš, Razkrižje, Trnovska vas, Solčava and Gornji Petrovci. Read more here.
